- Attractive Salary Range: £33,000 to £38,000 + Comprehensive Benefits Package
As a Financial Assistant, your primary responsibilities will encompass:
- Managing the purchase ledger, which includes handling purchase orders, processing invoices, executing supplier payment runs, managing credit card statements, and employee reimbursements, as well as reconciling supplier accounts and coordinating balances with affiliated companies at the end of each quarter.
- Overseeing the sales ledger, which involves generating sales invoices, conducting credit control, securing customer purchase orders for support services, and reconciling balances with sister companies at quarter-end.
- Executing bank transactions, including recording receipts and payments in the accounting software, uploading sales invoices to the group-wide payment system, and reconciling purchase invoices from affiliated companies on the system, along with performing weekly bank reconciliations.
- Preparing month-end nominal journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Conducting group and other ad hoc reporting, along with Excel data analysis.
- Compiling information for year-end financial statements and audits, including liaising with auditors and addressing inquiries.
- Ensuring compliance with VAT, corporation tax, and other regulatory requirements during processing.
- Providing first-line support for the Finance inbox, directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
To excel in the role of Financial Assistant, candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Extensive experience in accounting.
- Preferably AAT Qualified, with early-stage ACCA/CIMA pursuits.
Key Competencies:
- Articulate, inquisitive, and commercially aware.
- Team-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
- Strong educational background.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in IT, with experience in relevant systems and strong Excel capabilities.
