Role Responsibilities:

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will gain hands-on experience in Quantity Surveying while working towards a BSc (Hons) in Surveying at a recognized university. Upon graduation, we will assist you in achieving Chartered status with RICS. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accompanying experienced colleagues on site visits to conduct surveys and participate in project discussions.
  • Assisting in the creation of reports, contract documents, and specifications.
  • Supporting the preparation of estimates and cost plans by generating quantities for measurement software.
  • Engaging in tasks related to tender preparation and evaluating received tenders.
  • Assisting with the management of project handovers, including snagging checks and documentation validation.
  • Reviewing site valuations to assess progress against contract sums and project cash flow.
  • Providing support in basic contract administration, including change control and cost reporting.
  • Conducting design checks and reviews to meet funding and client requirements.
  • Identifying and documenting site risks, reporting findings to senior staff.
  • Maintaining tracker documents to monitor progress on various contractual matters.
  • Communicating with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders while assisting senior team members with inquiries.

Candidate Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades C+ or 4+, including English and Maths.
  • 112 UCAS Tariff points at level 3 (preferably including a maths-related subject) or an Advanced Diploma in a construction-related field.

Knowledge:

  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • A foundational understanding of building construction or a strong desire to learn.
  • A willingness to familiarize oneself with standard forms of contract, including the JCT suite.
  • A valid UK driving license and access to transportation.
