Position Overview
This full-time position involves providing dedicated support to a Key Stage 1 student diagnosed with Autism who is non-verbal. The student is currently performing below age-related expectations across various learning domains. A key focus of this role will be to implement effective communication strategies tailored to the child's unique needs. Most support will be delivered outside the traditional classroom setting, concentrating on the child's specific developmental targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer personalized one-on-one assistance to the assigned student
  • Adapt support strategies in response to the child's evolving requirements
  • Implement targeted intervention programs
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENDCo to follow established guidance and planning
  • Maintain the safety and well-being of the child at all times
  • Provide regular updates and feedback to the class teacher and SENDCo


Essential Qualifications

  • Understanding of Autism spectrum disorders
  • Experience in supporting children or young adults with Autism


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with alternative communication methods
  • Relevant qualifications in Autism or Special Educational Needs
