Job Title: Vessel Operations Engineer

Talascend International is seeking a highly skilled Vessel Operations Engineer to join our team in Kingston. As a Vessel Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for working on a contract basis with one of our clients in the Oil & Gas sector.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for mobilization activities, including wet buckle contingency and pre-commissioning spread preparation onboard. You will also be involved in anchor pile installation and support to Castorone for initiation PLET installation (compensation buoy installation and retrieval). Additionally, you will monitor touch down point during Castorone pipelay campaign (readiness to intervene in case of wet buckle) and support Castorone for laydown PLET installation (compensation buoy installation and retrieval). Your duties will also include pre-commissioning campaign (flooding, cleaning and gauging), liaising with the engineering team to guarantee all required documentation is prepared, shared and commented by the vessel crew, and follow up of procurement of all items requested by the vessel for project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow up of procurement of all items requested by the vessel for project execution.
  • Interface with vessel team to guarantee project requirements are met.
  • Interface with ASSETs dept. to guarantee the marine spread readiness.
  • Vessel Operation Engineer duties during offshore operations include:
  • Liaising with the onshore PMT, VMT, OCM and CLIENT representative to ensure that the requirements of CLIENT specifications and the CONTRACTOR installation manual are followed.
  • Assists the OCM in all engineering aspects and advise on project specific items.
  • Completion of onsite technical queries and management of change requests as required during offshore operations.
  • Review and approval of task plans pertaining to pipeline operations which are written offshore, to ensure compliance with approved procedures.
  • Jointly responsible with the QC Coordinator for ensuring the correct revisions of documents are available on-board.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in marine engineering and operations, with experience in vessel operations and management. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
