Assistant Payments Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Payments Specialist to join our Clearing and Payments department at Bank of China. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the accurate and efficient operational processing of wholesale customer payments, investigating and resolving payment queries, and collaborating with various teams to ensure seamless payment processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payment Processing and Investigation
    • Accurately process a range of wholesale customer payments and investigation cases
    • Investigate and resolve operational processing issues, payment queries, and processing returns of inapplicable funds
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with Bank of China departments, global branches, and external financial institutions to resolve payment queries
    • Collaborate with teams to ensure timely and accurate payment processing
  • System Management and Reporting
    • Oversee GUPP Payment System queues in GB1 (Bank of China Ltd London Branch)
    • Assist with testing and implementation of new systems and system upgrades
    • Ensure capturing of statistical information for reporting
  • Training and Development
    • Deliver training to colleagues and new joiners on payment processing procedures
    • Complete training plans and ensure knowledge transfer

Requirements

  • Degree educated in a business-related discipline
  • Solid academic background with a minimum of 3 A levels or equivalent with GCSE's in Mathematics and English
  • Ideal experience in Swift and payment processing or banking operations
  • Fast learner with adaptability to changes
  • Advanced MS Excel and Word skills
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Team player with a detail-oriented approach
