Job Title: Mental Health Nurse Specialist

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is committed to providing high-quality care to children and young people with mental health needs. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Nurse Specialist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Team in Renfrewshire.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a full-time, permanent Band 6 Mental Health Nurse to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assess and provide interventions and treatment to children and young people experiencing moderate to severe mental health and neurodevelopmental difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and provide interventions and treatment to children and young people with mental health needs
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, and other service providers to provide holistic care
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to promote resilience and well-being
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve mental health services
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and share best practices
Requirements:
  • First Level Registered Mental Nurse (RMN/RNLD) with NMC Registration
  • Relevant post-registration experience of working with children and young people with mental health needs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning
