Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join our client, a leading packaging manufacturer. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's health, safety and environmental systems, promoting group-level processes and procedures, and driving HSE strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the health, safety and environmental systems across the manufacturing site
  • Work closely with other leadership departmental managers to drive and lead HSE strategies
  • Manage a health and safety assistant with daily workload and tasks
  • Drive the safety improvement plans for the site, covering legal compliance, new H&S policies, environmental impact, staff engagement, training, and best practice
  • Conduct risk assessments, H&S audits, machine safety (PUWER) and procedure creation
  • Hazard reports, contractor management, SSoW schedules
Requirements
  • Must have worked in a manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of production machinery
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar HSE managerial position
  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • Able to create new H&S procedures and policies
  • Proactive and approachable individual
  • Must have a NEBOSH General Certificate (Minimum Qualification)
  • Experienced in safety and legal compliance for manufacturing
  • Able to create risk assessments and SSoW
  • Qualified auditor is desirable
  • Experience of BRC and ISO Standards
  • Knowledge of Environmental
  • Able to train, coach people
  • IOSH Health and Safety
