We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Professional Development Officer to join our team at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). As a key member of our North England Membership area, you will play a crucial role in promoting and advancing civil engineering in the Yorkshire & Humber region.
Key Responsibilities- Membership Growth: Develop and implement strategies to increase membership in the Yorkshire & Humber region, working closely with the Membership Manager and other Membership Development Officers.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue business opportunities to support aspirant members and employers, ensuring effective delivery across the region and North England.
- Membership Support: Provide expert advice and guidance to members and non-members, ensuring they have the necessary resources to succeed in their careers.
- Employer Support: Work with employers to provide guidance on professional development and support their employees in achieving civil engineering qualifications.
- Education and Training: Collaborate with Further Education and Higher Education establishments to advise students on membership and career opportunities in civil engineering.
- Programme Management: Oversee the operation of ICE Approved Employers and mentor-supported programs, ensuring consistency and quality across the region.
- Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date membership records, ensuring compliance with ICE's data protection policies.
- Education: Degree-level qualification or equivalent in civil engineering, customer service, learning and development, or a related subject.
- Experience: Proven experience in business development, customer service, or a related field, with a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of audiences, including senior members of the engineering and education professions.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office applications, with experience working with databases and data analysis tools.
- Travel: Willingness to travel within North England and to ICE's Head Office in London, as required.
- Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays (pro-rata)
- Car Allowance: Pro-rata car allowance
- Wellbeing Allowance: Annual £100 allowance towards wellbeing
- Pension Scheme: Up to eight per cent of salary contributed to a personal pension scheme
