Finance Director

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of finance, including financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Develop and implement robust financial policies and procedures that align with NHS regulations and best practices.
  • Lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leaders across the organization to provide insightful financial analysis and support decision-making.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including NHS England, auditors, and external funding bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue generation, contributing to the Trust's overall financial health.
  • Proactively monitor financial performance, identifying trends and potential risks, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Champion a culture of transparency and accountability within the finance function.
Talent Management
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a talented finance team by identifying key skills gaps and implementing targeted training programs.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
  • Implement succession planning strategies to ensure the long-term sustainability of the finance function.
Other Responsibilities
  • Present financial information to various stakeholder groups in a clear and concise manner.
  • Participate in relevant professional development activities to maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and industry trends.
