Job Title: Health and Safety Manager

Astute People are working exclusively with Encyclis for a Health and Safety Manager for a new build Energy from Waste Power Station located in Cheshire.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for all H&S activities on site, ranging from inspections, audits, training, coordination, and reviewing/management of EHS documents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for managing the site's Health and Safety communications.
  • Developing and managing the risk assessment/accident reporting system.
  • Liaising with external bodies.
  • Advising on environmental issues.
  • Monitoring the performance of the plant's Health and Safety program and identifying opportunities to increase effectiveness.
  • Carrying out on-site audits and investigations.
  • Developing a strong H&S culture.
  • Managing and updating the site's H&S systems.
  • Coordinating emergency response training.
  • Providing H&S training for O&M staff.
Requirements:
  • Ideal degree qualified in a technical/environmental background.
  • A NEBOSH certificate qualification is required as a minimum for this position.
  • Strong background in Health and Safety gained in a heavy process or engineering environment.
  • At least five years' experience in a Health and Safety Management position.
  • An understanding of permits/compliance would be advantageous.
