About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Estates Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Trust's compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to managers and staff across the Trust.
  • Develop and implement effective health and safety policies, procedures, and systems to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with the Estates Team, Capital Projects, and Management Group to deliver health and safety initiatives and projects.
  • Represent the Trust at regional IOSH Health and Safety meetings and attend training updates to maintain compliance with statutory and legal requirements.
Requirements
  • NEBOSH level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
  • Substantial health and safety knowledge, preferably within a healthcare environment, with experience of risk management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations.
