We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Director to join our Site Operations team at Colchester Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of patient care through the coordination of clinical resources across the Trust 24/7.
Key Responsibilities- Collate and maintain accurate capacity and escalation data for internal reporting
- Ensure the escalation of clinical and operational concerns to appropriate key individuals within the clinical Divisions
- Organise and prioritise your workload within timescales and schedules, building in flexibility to deal with unforeseen demands on time and resources
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation, including adverse incidents, and take corrective action as necessary
- Be proactive in the prevention and management of complaints from staff and patients, and assist in investigations where applicable
- Work as a member of the Hospital at Night Team
- Provide advice and support to Trust employees as required by the Clinical Site Matron on site, acting independently in decision making for all issues relating to site management
- Coordinate Night Nursing staff to cover sickness and unforeseen absence as per Trust policy
- Support the Clinical Site Matron in the coordination and management of the Trust's emergency response to fire, security alerts, and serious incidents
- Support the Clinical Site Matron in leading and coordinating on missing patient reports as per Trust policy
- Maintain an accurate Trust bed state at all times
- Work to minimise non-clinical transfers and reduce risk and improve patient experience
- Identify and take immediate action to resolve and prevent delays within the patient flow system, escalating unresolved issues to appropriate managers
- Degree level or equivalent
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Experience of leading at a service level
