We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to spearhead our initiatives in energy storage across European markets. Reporting directly to the Area Sales Director, this position is integral to our success.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive sales opportunities in the energy storage sector Ensure high-quality sales processes and maintain healthy profit margins throughout project execution Develop and implement effective pricing strategies and accurate cost evaluations Lead a diverse group of stakeholders and the project sales team towards achieving objectives Utilize S&OP data to inform cost estimations and project timelines Ensure comprehensive understanding of tender requirements within the project sales team and prepare high-quality submissions Assess risks thoroughly Conduct necessary internal reviews and secure approvals Adhere to Wärtsilä's contracting policies and negotiate favorable contract terms Lead contract negotiations and develop winning sales strategies Cultivate and manage key customer relationships Monitor and report on sales project progress and maintain CRM data accuracy Ensure thorough sales documentation and facilitate deal closure Transition sales projects effectively to execution teams Promote Wärtsilä's mission and embody its valuesQualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the utility-scale renewable energy sector, with a strong preference for candidates with battery energy storage expertise Strong commitment to safety Proven track record as a senior sales leader with experience in guiding high-performing cross-functional teams Demonstrated success in negotiating complex sales agreements Understanding of contractual and risk management principles Excellent influencing and communication skills, particularly in cross-functional and external stakeholder interactions Ability to lead by example and foster collaboration Comprehensive knowledge of the energy storage market and future trends Strong commercial acumen combined with a structured approach Exceptional team player with outstanding coaching abilities Proven ability to drive results through effective planning and execution Capacity to inspire teams towards achieving future objectives Commitment to diversity and creating an inclusive environment Alignment with Wärtsilä's mission and values, focusing on customer success and performance Proficiency in Italian is essential; Spanish is a plus Willingness to travel as requiredSuccess Metrics:
