Role Overview
We are seeking a part-time Associate Specialist Psychiatrist to join our established multidisciplinary team at a 28-bed Community Facing Rehabilitation and Recovery service. You will play a vital role in providing comprehensive medical care to patients within this therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist to deliver continuous medical coverage for patients on the ward.
- Conduct thorough assessments, investigations, diagnoses, and treatments under the supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, ensuring regular reviews and adjustments as required.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive medical records for each patient, documenting all interactions and interventions.
- Contribute to a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.
Requirements
- Full GMC registration.
- Minimum of 12 months' experience in adult psychiatry.
- Experience within a similar setting is preferred.
- Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, as well as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity.
- Proven ability to interview, assess, treat patients, and write clear medical notes.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development (CPD).
- Desirable: Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Physicians, General Practitioners, or equivalent.
