Role Overview

We are seeking a part-time Associate Specialist Psychiatrist to join our established multidisciplinary team at a 28-bed Community Facing Rehabilitation and Recovery service. You will play a vital role in providing comprehensive medical care to patients within this therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist to deliver continuous medical coverage for patients on the ward.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, investigations, diagnoses, and treatments under the supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, ensuring regular reviews and adjustments as required.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive medical records for each patient, documenting all interactions and interventions.
  • Contribute to a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.

Requirements

  • Full GMC registration.
  • Minimum of 12 months' experience in adult psychiatry.
  • Experience within a similar setting is preferred.
  • Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, as well as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity.
  • Proven ability to interview, assess, treat patients, and write clear medical notes.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development (CPD).
  • Desirable: Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Physicians, General Practitioners, or equivalent.
