About the Company:
Our client has been a prominent player in the catering infrastructure solutions sector for over 30 years, recognized globally for delivering top-notch services and products. Due to ongoing success and a strategic growth initiative for the upcoming year, they are looking to add a dedicated Field Service Engineer to their well-established technical support team.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will ideally be situated in the Westminster / Central London area and will report directly to the Service Manager. This role includes a week of on-site work in a prestigious client environment. The Field Service Engineer will participate in training programs and collaborate with a skilled team to perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), troubleshoot breakdowns, and conduct contract service maintenance for a diverse range of catering equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responding promptly to technical support inquiries and executing necessary PPM checks to ensure all catering equipment is operational and safe.
- Engaging with on-site catering personnel to prioritize and resolve equipment breakdowns, including decommissioning and installing replacements as needed.
- Instructing customer staff on the proper use, care, and maintenance of equipment, while reporting any misuse or neglect.
- Maintaining current knowledge of all catering equipment within the hire fleet and understanding the criticality of each item.
- Completing service documentation accurately and maintaining a clean, well-stocked work vehicle.
- Supporting site and project-related activities, both domestically and internationally, as required.
- Assisting the Technical Support Department as necessary.
Qualifications:
To be eligible for this opportunity, candidates must possess a full UK driving license and have a minimum of 2 years' experience applying mechanical and electrical knowledge in a professional setting. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
Upon completion of training, qualifications may include CCCN1 (or CCN1 and COCATA1), COMCAT1, COMCAT3, COMCAT5, CONGLP1 PD, F-gas, and C&G 18th Edition and Test and Inspection electrical certifications.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent fault-finding and repair abilities, along with strong written and verbal communication skills. They should be capable of conveying technical information clearly to non-technical audiences, serving as a brand ambassador at all times. A well-organized and self-motivated approach is essential to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
