A prominent UK financial institution is seeking a seasoned Solutions Architect to contribute to their Fraud and Financial Crime division. This role offers the flexibility of remote work.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical foundation and a proven track record in the financial services industry.

Key Qualifications:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in developing technical designs and collaborating with stakeholders to advance projects, even amidst ambiguity.
  • Proficient in both on-premises and cloud solution design, with strong communication skills.
  • Experience in the Fraud or Financial Crime sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to evaluate design alternatives and provide sound recommendations.
  • Oversee project delivery to ensure alignment with agreed-upon designs and assess the implications of change requests.
  • Facilitate design forums and workshops, engaging with developers, operational staff, and business partners, including third-party vendors.
  • Prepare designs for approval and present them during formal review sessions.
  • Conduct peer reviews of designs created by team members.
  • Participate in technical communities to enhance software development policies and standards.
  • Provide solution design estimates to inform business cases.
  • Engage in internal initiatives aimed at improving the overall capabilities of the Solutions Design team.
  • Work alongside Lead Solution Architects and other architects to support various business projects.

Experience Required:

  • Proficiency in a variety of technologies, including Messaging & Middleware, Microservices, Cloud Computing, and Data Streaming.
  • Demonstrated expertise in solution architecture.
  • Experience in both waterfall and agile methodologies throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Understanding of design governance principles.
  • Ability to collaborate with both business and technology stakeholders to build credibility in addressing business challenges.
  • Skill in managing and resolving design-related risks and issues.
  • Capability to influence and engage with senior stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in planning and driving the scope, delivery, and design of projects.
  • Ability to work effectively with other change and technology professionals.
  • Familiarity with areas such as Financial Fraud, Anti-Money Laundering, Debit & Credit Card systems, ATM & POS, Payments, Core Banking Processing, and Treasury Systems.
