Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated General Practitioner to join our esteemed team, offering 6 sessions per week. We are flexible regarding working arrangements for the right candidate, although we cannot accommodate fully remote positions.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to perform all standard duties and responsibilities associated with a General Practitioner operating within primary healthcare.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Conducting patient consultations and addressing inquiries
- Triage and home visits for patients
- Managing emergencies and telephone consultations
- Issuing repeat prescriptions and reviewing patient test results
- Preparing medical reports and examinations on behalf of the practice
- Drafting referral letters and handling correspondence
Maintaining accurate and timely consultation records is essential. The role also involves generating both acute and repeat prescriptions electronically, minimizing handwritten prescriptions.
The position includes responsibilities for the education and training of medical staff.
Adherence to all relevant practice policies and guidelines, including those related to prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, and health and safety, is crucial. Participation in annual assessments and audits is expected.

We are a welcoming rural healthcare facility with a growing patient base. Our practice is known for its excellent patient experience and has a strong reputation in the community.
Our team consists of a GP partner, several salaried GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a Clinical Pharmacist, and nursing staff, along with a range of support professionals. We also collaborate with visiting specialists and have a comprehensive management and administrative team.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will work autonomously, providing medical services to our patient population while ensuring compliance with healthcare contracts. Adherence to professional standards and contributing to the effective management of the practice is essential.
Qualifications
Required
- Qualified General Practitioner
- MRCGP certification
- Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent
- Completion of Training Certificate (CCT)
- Full registration with the GMC
- Registration on the National Performers List
- Eligibility to practice independently in the UK
