Fixed Wing Flight Test Engineer

At QinetiQ, we are committed to leading the field in aviation innovation. We are seeking an experienced and qualified Fixed Wing Flight Test Engineer to join our ETPS team of instructors, training aircraft testers at Boscombe Down.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality instruction on a wide range of topics to aspiring flight test professionals.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration and innovation within the team of highly qualified Flight Test Engineer Instructors (FTEIs), Test Pilot instructors (TPIs), and Theoretical Knowledge Instructors (TKIs).
  • Collaborate with a highly experienced team of flight test instructors to deliver world-class training to a wide range of students from around the world.
Requirements
  • Engineering or Science degree coupled with at least 3 years actively working as a LFTE or equivalent on a range of significant modern fixed wing flight test programmes.
  • Graduate Fixed Wing Flight Test Engineer from one of the 4 UK MoD-recognised Test Pilot Schools (ETPS, USNTPS, USAFTPS or EPNER) or equivalent standard thereof.
  • Broad and extensive experience within the flight test community and have experience of using synthetics and simulation in flight test programmes.
  • Sound knowledge of aircraft performance, systems, stability & control and their testing together with skilled use of typical software for the analysis and reporting of data in the flight test environment.
  • Experience of the UK MoD's Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT).
