The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Work Coach to lead our team of Work and Health Coaches in providing exceptional support to individuals in their journey to returning, remaining, or finding new employment, while also promoting their health and wellbeing.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage a high-performance, quality-driven service, leading by example and motivating the team to deliver best practice principles of job retention.
- Monitor and manage the performance of Employment Retention Advisers, conducting regular 1-2-1 meetings, quarterly performance appraisals, and managing employee relations issues.
- Manage a small caseload, advising and supporting clients to address workplace problems and help them return to work, remain in work, or find new employment.
- Submit accurate and timely monthly reports to the Programme Manager and Head of IPS, as well as other management information requested.
- Produce regular monitoring reports for external stakeholders, including commissioners.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement, identifying barriers to service excellence and working with internal and external stakeholders to implement solutions.
- Identify, devise, and lead on training needs for staff, arranging appropriate training to support continuous professional development.
- Coordinate the work of Employment Retention Advisers to build relationships with local employers, external agencies, and delivery of job-seeking groups.
Requirements
- Experience of managing a team and performance management procedures.
- Relevant experience providing case management support to a caseload of clients with health and/or employment-related barriers.
- Understanding of the practical impact of common health conditions on an individual's ability to work.
- Ability to supervise the caseloads of individuals with different needs and goals.
- Relevant experience of producing high-quality reports, letters, and spreadsheets for internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with improving systems and processes, undertaking audits, and presenting and analyzing results.
- Demonstrable experience of successfully working to targets and driving performance of the team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Practical experience in accessing external support services and well-developed networking skills.
- Ability to use initiative and take a problem-solving approach to work tasks.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently when required.
