About the Role:
A new opportunity has arisen for a skilled Cook/Chef to join our client's 30-bed family care home as part of their catering team.
The successful candidate will be required to work 36-40 hours per week and alternative weekends, playing a vital role in ensuring that the meals provided are nutritious and well-balanced, catering to the needs of residents in a care home setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the catering services within the home, maintaining a high standard of food provision and service.
- Ensure that meals are prepared to the highest standards, taking into account dietary requirements and preferences.
- Oversee the inventory, stock rotation, and ordering processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective operation.
- Maintain standards within the Catering Department according to Health and Safety and Food Safety Act regulations.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- The right to live and work in the UK.
- Educated to NVQ 2 in Cooking or equivalent, with a food hygiene certificate.
- Experience of catering management in a care home or similar environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to manage inventory, stock rotation, and ordering.
- Previous experience of maintaining standards within a Catering Department according to Health and Safety and Food Safety Act regulations.
