We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEN school in the North West. This is a full-time position, working 5 days a week, with the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our pupils.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have previous experience working with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, and will be able to provide support and guidance to pupils from KS2 to KS4. The ideal candidate will have a relevant teaching assistant qualification and excellent knowledge of the full curriculum and assessment frameworks.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support and guidance to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
- Work with pupils from KS2 to KS4, supporting their learning and development
- Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils
- Relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 1, 2 or 3)
- Previous experience working with children in the last 2 years
- Excellent knowledge of the full curriculum and assessment frameworks
- Previous KS2, KS3 and KS4 experience
- Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
- Two references working with children
- Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service
