Support Assistant for SEMH Students

Role Overview
The Learning Support Assistant will work closely with the class teacher to prepare lesson materials and support the delivery of lessons. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting students with SEMH challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in preparing lesson materials
- Assist in the delivery of lessons and ensure students are engaged in their learning
- Take responsibility for the social and emotional wellbeing of students
- Manage challenging behaviour with confidence and resilience
About the School
The school provides an excellent blend of core subjects and vocational activities. Students have the opportunity to undertake animal care, horticulture, and outdoor adventurous activities. A therapeutic approach underpins the work of the school.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with SEN/SEMH students
- Additional qualifications desirable (e.g. Teaching Assistant Level 2 or 3, NVQ Health and Social Care Level 2 or 3)
- Confident in managing challenging behaviour
- Enthusiastic, passionate, and resilient
- Able to drive and have own car
Working Arrangements
Monday - Friday, 8:45am - 3:45pm (until 5pm on Tuesdays), term time only.
