Job Description

Purpose of the Role

To design, develop, and improve software that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. This involves utilizing various engineering methodologies to create scalable, maintainable, and optimized software solutions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Participate in code reviews, promote a culture of code quality, and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Implement secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management, on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.

This is an exciting and key role, partnering with business-aligned engineering and product teams, to ensure a collaborative team culture is at the heart of what we do. You will support the acceleration of a new digital platform capability, transforming and modernizing our digital estate to build a market-leading digital offering with customer experience at its heart.

Key Skills and Experience

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as solid experience in full-stack development technologies, knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering principles, project exposure to Policy Management, and Implementation of Role-Based Access Control and Policy-Based Access Control. Additional relevant skills include cloud computing, experience in DevSecOps, familiarity with Infrastructure as a Code tools, containerization, and knowledge of authentication.

Location

This role will be based out of our Knutsford office.
