Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage a team of cleaning and waste management professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
- Develop and implement long-term strategies for waste reduction and sustainability, aligning with our company's goals and objectives.
- Manage planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for cleaning supplies, equipment, waste management, and third-party staff schedules.
- Maximize ancillary revenues throughout the planning cycle, directly impacting the financial performance of the business.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, regularly updating and analyzing risk assessments and method statements related to cleaning and waste management.
- Implement sustainable practices to reduce waste generation, increase recycling rates, and minimize environmental impact.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and proper waste disposal practices throughout our facilities.
- Develop and implement cleaning and waste management policies, procedures, and standards to ensure a high-quality service delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring understanding of their cleaning and waste management needs and expectations.
- Evaluate event success and effectiveness through debriefs, analysis, and feedback, implementing improvements for future events.
- Effectively manage team shift schedules alongside the Operations Planning Manager, actively planning and scheduling to ensure staff welfare.
- Analyze performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Previous leadership experience in cleaning and waste management in a similar environment (ideally a large venue or events space).
- Knowledge of sustainability principles and experience implementing sustainable practices in cleaning and waste management.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, waste management practices, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex situations and make strategic decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a longer-term strategic focus.
Please note that this is a Monday to Friday role (40 hours/week), with occasional weekend working necessary to support higher-profile events.
