Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Years Educator to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). As a key member of our nursery team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality childcare and education to children aged 2 years and above.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work alongside colleagues to provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to play, learn, and develop.
  • Deliver an effective Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that supports children's interests and stage of development.
  • Work with the nursery daily routine, including indoor and outdoor learning areas and local community activities.
  • Engage children in creative and sensory play, promoting their cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Support a small group of children as a 'Key Worker', developing their care and educational needs.
  • Provide excellent communication and support to parents/carers, understanding and appreciating diversity.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Childcare qualification (NVQ Level 2 or 3)
  • Experience working with children under 5 years old
  • Experience with young toddlers and babies
  • Experience with parent partnership working
  • Experience working within a team environment
  • Knowledge of Early Years milestones
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
  • Understanding of diversity and equality practice for children, families, and staff
  • Awareness of health, hygiene, and safety procedures in the workplace
