Main Purpose of Job

The Registered Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring high-quality care and promoting the rights of young people as individuals. This role requires leadership and accountability, with a focus on delivering good outcomes for young people in accordance with relevant legislation and guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality care in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational policies and procedures.
  • Lead a team of care workers, ensuring they have adequate training and working knowledge of health and safety guidelines.
  • Keep accurate records and implement monitoring and evaluation systems within the organisation.
  • Provide management information, including statistical data, as required.
  • Develop and promote new techniques and approaches to childcare provision.
  • Attend and chair meetings, both internally and externally, as required.
  • Take on-call responsibilities and undertake sleep-in shifts, if necessary.
  • Write concise and evaluative reports and oversee all written communication.
  • Make decisions when appropriate and oversee admissions and discharges to the home.
Required Attributes
  • Enthusiasm for providing high-quality care and education.
  • Experience of managing a team.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
  • Familiarity with the needs of vulnerable individuals.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to maintain emotional resilience in challenging situations.
  • Demonstrate respect for appropriate boundaries and authority.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to equal opportunities.
