Position Overview

The Finance Department's primary goals are to deliver precise financial data that aids in informed decision-making and to fulfill statutory annual accounts and monthly submissions as necessary. A significant emphasis is placed on customer service to ensure that managers are equipped with operational tools to effectively monitor and assess their financial performance.

Key responsibilities include maintaining the financial ledger, offering financial management support, and providing guidance to Clinical Groups.

Timely processing of accounting information in line with the established monthly accounting schedule is essential, ensuring that the reporting needs of clinical groups are satisfied.

Main Responsibilities

Financial Management Specialist (Band 5)

As a Financial Management Specialist, your primary duties will include:

  • Assisting in the formulation of annual budgets
  • Providing financial counsel to budget holders and management
  • Ensuring effective financial oversight by delivering accurate reports on year-end income and expenditures
  • Conducting thorough variance analysis

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Part qualified or currently pursuing CCAB (or equivalent)
  • Experience in providing budgetary support and engaging with budget holders
  • Ability to interpret and present financial data effectively
  • A proactive attitude towards taking on responsibilities and evolving the role

Essential Qualifications:

  • Studying towards CCAB or ATT
  • Degree holder with a minimum classification of 2:1

Experience Requirements:

  • Proven track record of achievements and delivering work within tight deadlines
  • Desirable: Experience operating effectively within the finance function

Skills:

  • Desirable: Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets
