The Role:

We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist for a leading renewable energy producer in Europe.

The primary office location is flexible, with projects primarily situated in Scotland and Northern England.

A hybrid work model is encouraged, requiring only 1-2 days in the office each week, with additional office presence as needed.

You will develop and implement effective PMO and project controls frameworks and strategies for assigned projects. You will facilitate top-tier service delivery and engage with industry professionals to enhance Mace's reputation. You will expand your expertise in PMO and project controls, building a robust internal and external network (including clients, contractors, consultancies, and other stakeholders). You will oversee PMO and project controls performance for your assigned projects. You will design and implement effective PMO and project controls strategies for your commissions. You will guide clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams on all PMO and project controls matters. You will collaborate with clients to meet their expectations and foster strong professional relationships. You will provide expert guidance to project teams in managing PMO and project controls processes, focusing on cost, schedule, change, risk, and reporting to achieve key objectives. You will facilitate regular reporting and structured governance meetings. You will be responsible for developing and managing project baselines (scope, time, cost, risk, assumptions) and monitoring delivery performance, changes, and contingencies. You will contribute to quantitative analyses (cost and time). You will work alongside the PMO director and/or project manager to identify actions, opportunities, and risk mitigation strategies. You will coordinate activities to ensure compliance with Mace control center, client requirements, and relevant legislation. You will lead a team of PMO and project controls professionals to deliver on assigned projects. You will provide technical expertise to mentor and support the personal and career development of your team members. You will integrate project controls with PMO and planning disciplines. You will assist the HUB PMO and project controls director with resource management and recruitment for your projects. You will work collaboratively towards achieving net-zero carbon transition goals and proactively manage associated carbon emissions during project delivery.

Required Qualifications:

Proven experience in leading PMO and project controls on complex construction projects. Experience in establishing effective PMO and project controls services, audit, and assurance frameworks. Comprehensive knowledge of risk management tools, techniques, and software (e.g., MS Office, Power BI, Aconex, Primavera P6, RiskHive). Ability to manage activities with significant uncertainty. Strong understanding of construction projects and their lifecycle management. Deep domain knowledge in PMO and project controls across various sectors (e.g., rail, highways, nuclear, public sector, healthcare). Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships. Proven ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders. Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex information to non-technical audiences. Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments while managing multiple priorities. Proven experience in managing and influencing senior stakeholders. Attention to detail and ability to conduct in-depth analysis. Additional Qualifications:

Membership in RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE, or equivalent professional development. Extensive experience in the successful delivery of projects and programs in the consultancy sector. Expertise in property or infrastructure project management. Strong commercial and financial insight. Leadership experience managing large, diverse teams. Experience in managing relationships with key senior stakeholders. Knowledge of carbon and sustainability considerations in project management.
