Project Manager Job Description

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our Integrated Project team (IPT). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects from start to finish, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage project teams to deliver projects to schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Interface with functional business areas to achieve project deliverables.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration across functional business areas.
  • Coordinate project activities and interdependencies, resolving risks and issues as they arise.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with Leonardo policies and processes.
  • Manage project budgets and monitor expenditure against delivered and realised benefits.
  • Manage authorisations and profitability in line with level of accountability.
  • Identify, capture, and manage project risks, developing contingency plans as required.
  • Liaise with programme management and related projects to ensure alignment and integration.
  • Engage with IPTs, customers, and vendors in line with level of accountability.
  • Apply change control and configuration management processes.
  • Liaise with project assurance representatives to assure project direction and integrity.
  • Conduct project reviews and highlight actions/recommendations to appropriate business areas.
  • Manage project administration and report progress to management.
Requirements:
  • Project management approach to specific project requirements.
  • Good knowledge of planning, monitoring, and controlling projects.
  • Ability to tailor expert knowledge to meet specific circumstances.
  • Understanding and application of business case and risk management processes.
  • Ability to make decisions with limited facts.
  • Establishing good working relationships with senior responsible owners and customer representatives.
  • Building and sustaining effective communications with other project roles.
  • Directing, managing, and motivating project teams.
  • Developing and maintaining project plans and stage plans.
  • Planning and managing deployment of physical and financial resources.
  • Applying quality management principles and processes.
  • Ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems.
