About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled AI Designer to join our team at 2K. As an AI Systems Designer, you will be responsible for creating engaging AI Systems and Behaviours that provide great gameplay and enhance the fantasy of our games.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement AI behaviours and features from prototype to shipping
  • Own the feature development for AI game design, combat and non-combat NPCs in the game
  • Develop new archetypes that fit the vision of a Mafia game, including creative and technical design prototypes, enemy behaviours and abilities
  • Evaluate and refine AI systems to ensure they meet the desired gameplay experience
  • Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to implement, tune and balance combat
  • Author and maintain design documentation
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of game design principles and the role of AI in gameplay loops
  • Creativity to unify AI systems & behaviours, tactical space and player verbs to create unique moments
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine
  • Shipped one or more AAA game titles in an AI Design role or similar
  • Passion for crafting complex, balanced systems and linking those to desired player experiences
  • Ability to drive prioritisation and scheduling of work for owned feature(s)
  • Strong collaboration skills, able to work well with team members from other disciplines and in other locations
