Our client, a local authority in London, is seeking an experienced Planning Policy Manager to fill a 12-month maternity cover contract role. The successful candidate will lead a team of 4 Policy Officers in ensuring the new Local Plan and associated policy documents meet statutory requirements and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of Policy Officers in the development of the new Local Plan and associated policy documents.
  2. Ensure compliance with UK planning legislation and relevant national and Council policies.
  3. Collaborate with the team to deliver the site allocations document and other policy documents.
  4. Develop and implement effective policies and procedures to support the Local Plan.

Requirements:

  1. Significant experience in planning policy development and implementation.
  2. Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and policy development.
  3. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  4. Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and team members.

Contract Details:

  1. 12-month contract role.
  2. Salary up to £61,347 per annum.
  3. Benefits of a permanent employee.
  4. Option to work as a contractor on a day rate via an Umbrella company.
