Procurement Strategist

Artis Recruitment is seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Strategist to support a leading manufacturing business in their search for a Head of Procurement. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with the company's business goals, ensuring a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.

1. Develop and Execute Procurement Strategies: Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement procurement strategies that support the company's business objectives.
2. Lead the Procurement Team: Foster a high-performance culture within the procurement team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver exceptional results.
3. Negotiate Contracts and Agreements: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions, ensuring the company's interests are protected.
4. Build and Maintain Supplier Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders, ensuring a collaborative and mutually beneficial partnership.
5. Implement Efficient Procurement Processes: Introduce and improve the efficiency of the Purchase to Pay (P2P) process, ensuring seamless transactions and minimal disruptions.
6. Drive Cost-Saving Initiatives: Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, ensuring the company's procurement processes are optimized for maximum efficiency and minimal waste.
7. Monitor Market Trends and Supplier Performance: Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and supplier performance, providing insights and recommendations to inform procurement decisions.
8. Oversee Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage risk within the supply chain, protecting the company's interests and reputation.
9. Collaborate with Other Departments: Collaborate with other departments to ensure procurement aligns with operational needs, driving business growth and success.
10. Report on Procurement Performance: Provide regular reports on procurement performance, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.

1. Proven Experience: Proven experience as a Head of Procurement or in a similar senior procurement role within manufacturing or construction.
2. Strong Negotiation and Contract Management Skills: Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills, with the ability to secure the best terms and conditions.
3. Supply Chain Management Expertise: In-depth knowledge of supply chain management and procurement best practices, with the ability to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction.
4. Excellent Leadership and Team Management Skills: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to foster a high-performance culture within the procurement team.
5. Strategic Thinker: A strategic thinker with a focus on continuous improvement and cost reduction, with the ability to drive business growth and success.
6. Strong Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work with data to drive decisions and inform procurement strategies.
7. CIPS Qualification: A CIPS qualification or equivalent is desirable, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and excellence in procurement.
