We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Assistant to contribute to our Circular Economy and Sustainability Lab at the Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford. The successful candidate will join our team working on the Circular Electrical and Electronics Programme, funded by UKRI, to develop systems and engineering design solutions for a Circular Economy for Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE).
Key Responsibilities- Identify and analyze full-lifecycle systems barriers, enablers, and leverage points to transition to a low-carbon Circular Economy for EEE.
- Develop and evaluate novel circular product-service systems and related circular business models for EEE, leveraging emerging technologies and new behavioral insights.
- Understand how to mainstream behaviors around reduce, reuse, repair, and recycling of EEE and raise awareness and improve consumer access to circular economy solutions through public engagement and citizen science.
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant PhD/DPhil in Design, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline, with sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within our established research programme. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic to learn and work independently and as part of a larger team, with the curiosity and motivation to address important real-world problems through rigorous and ambitious academic inquiry.
