Position Overview

We are seeking an Administrative Support Specialist to join our team at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This role is integral to the Living Well project, providing essential support across three teams within our organization.

The position entails a commitment of 34 hours per week, operating from Monday to Friday, with a standard schedule of 9am to 5pm, including one early finish each week. We are open to considering job share arrangements for suitable candidates.

The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and be dedicated to delivering a comprehensive, high-quality support service to our Medical Secretaries, Consultant Psychiatrists, and junior medical staff.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Effectively manage and prioritize your workload, responding to various demands on your time.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, engaging with patients, caregivers, and staff at all levels, while handling inquiries with sensitivity and urgency.
  • Demonstrate proficient keyboard skills, as you will be responsible for the audio transcription of clinical correspondence and maintaining accurate patient databases as necessary.

Candidates should have a minimum of GCSE English qualification or an equivalent credential. Experience with clinical IT systems, particularly SystmOne, is preferred, although comprehensive training will be provided.

This role requires adaptability and flexibility, as you will be part of a dynamic team of secretaries, responding to daily changes in workload and priorities.
