Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultancy and Tenders Manager to join our Research Operations Team at Durham University.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a new model for efficiently seeking, managing, and growing consultancy and tender activity across the university.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to academics to support the development of consultancy and tender activity across the university.
  • Undertake due diligence and risk management activities, proposing actions to mitigate risk, and ensuring contracts and agreements comply with university policies and governance regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Research Operations Team, the Head of Business Development, and the Head of Research Operations to achieve the team's objectives.
  • Form close working relationships with members of the Research and Innovation Services team, Legal Services, Heads of Department, Directors of Research, Department Managers, and other members of Professional Support Staff.
Requirements
  • Highly organised and able to pay close attention to detail.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and able to work across a number of concurrent projects at different stages of development.
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
