Job Summary
The Market Surgery in Aylsham is seeking a skilled Nurse Team Leader to lead and supervise the nursing team. This part-time position (26 hours per week) requires a commitment to working on Fridays.
Main Responsibilities
This key role involves leading and supervising the nursing team, providing safe and effective nursing services to the practice population. Key duties include:
- Providing clinical care for practice patients
- Implementing new clinical services after agreement by the practice
- Acting as the practice lead for better working with other nursing services
- Attending practice/primary care meetings to update partners and management
- Having regular meetings with the nursing team to address clinical or organizational issues
- Working closely with the practice manager to manage staff within the nursing team
- Identifying training needs of the nursing team and promoting lifelong learning
- Working with other healthcare professionals to diagnose, monitor, and manage patients with diabetes, asthma, obesity, and other conditions
- Wound care and management
- Leading the development and monitoring of key quality markers for clinical practice
About Us
The Market Surgery is a busy seven-doctor practice serving over 10,000 patients in and around Aylsham in North Norfolk. We provide a friendly and efficient service, with all consulting rooms on the ground floor and a dispensary next to the reception area. We are a training practice for GP registrars and medical students.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will possess:
- RGN qualification
- Current NMC registration
- Accredited training in chronic disease management
- Cervical cytology qualification
Additional Skills
The successful candidate will also have:
- Up-to-date training in childhood immunizations
- Health promotion
- Family planning
- Knowledge of SystmOne (desirable)
- Accredited training in anticoagulation management (desirable)
