Job Summary

The postholder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide specialist psychological assessments, interventions, and consultations to children and young people with learning disabilities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology or counselling psychology and experience of working with children and young people with learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions to children and young people with learning disabilities and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Provide consultation and training to other professionals on psychological aspects of learning disabilities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to learning disabilities.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Postgraduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology or counselling psychology.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with learning disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of legislation and policies related to learning disabilities.
