Position Overview

The role of the Senior Project Coordinator for Physician Associates (PAs) involves overseeing a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the integration and effectiveness of PAs within the healthcare framework. PAs are trained healthcare professionals who collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive medical services. Their contribution is particularly significant in the mental health sector, where clarity in their roles and responsibilities is essential for optimal service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Project Coordinator will lead a two-year initiative focused on establishing a robust workforce strategy for PAs. This includes:

  • Developing a recruitment strategy to expand the PA workforce.
  • Creating a competency framework tailored for PAs in mental health settings.
  • Implementing a continuous professional development (CPD) program.
  • Organizing regional meetings that encompass both academic and operational aspects.
  • Formulating a business case to advocate for additional PA roles in specialized areas of Psychiatry.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

  • A Master's degree in Physician Associate Studies or an equivalent qualification.
  • A recognized project management certification.
  • Proven experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Experience in workforce development and change implementation.
  • Proficiency in report writing and presentation delivery.
  • Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders effectively.
  • Familiarity with the challenges faced by PAs and their training.
  • Understanding of national policies and frameworks related to PAs.
  • Experience in developing educational programs.

Desirable

  • Clinical experience as a Physician Associate.
