Key Responsibilities of the Construction Equipment Engineer:

  • Ensure all construction equipment and commercial vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, including fault diagnosis, servicing, and pre-delivery inspections on-site.
  • Perform breakdown repairs on construction machinery and heavy goods vehicles as needed.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on various plant equipment, including diggers, dumpers, excavators, paving machines, rollers, and HGVs/LGVs.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities and ensure all documentation is completed accurately and punctually, including warranty claims.

To excel in the role of Construction Equipment Engineer, candidates should have experience in similar positions such as Engineer, Mechanic, Plant Fitter, Mobile Plant Fitter, Workshop Plant Fitter, Service Fitter, Service Engineer, Service Technician, Heavy Plant Engineer, or HGV Technician. An NVQ in Plant Maintenance or HGV Mechanics (or equivalent) is required.
