The Director of Product Excellence is tasked with overseeing the strategic direction and execution of product quality initiatives at Gordon Murray Group. This pivotal role ensures that our products meet the highest standards of quality throughout the entire production process, from initial concept to final delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive product and operational quality strategies to guarantee that vehicles are produced flawlessly, meeting customer expectations consistently.
- Quality Assurance: Take charge of perceived quality metrics, including benchmarking, target establishment, and issue resolution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Performance Metrics: Monitor and report on product and operational quality KPIs to the leadership team, effectively managing risks throughout the product lifecycle.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for ongoing enhancements through regular business reviews, identifying opportunities to integrate lean principles into production processes.
- Design Collaboration: Act as the quality representative during design reviews, ensuring that all engineering designs are practical for manufacturing and assembly.
- Compliance Coordination: Collaborate with homologation and compliance teams to ensure all vehicles meet OEM compliance standards, including final customer approvals.
- Issue Management: Lead the vehicle issue management process, ensuring timely resolution and effective KPI reporting.
- Handover Process: Oversee the end-of-line vehicle handover process, ensuring a seamless transition from production to customer delivery.
- Foster strong relationships within the team, providing mentorship and support for professional development.
- Encourage and motivate team members to achieve both personal and departmental objectives through structured development plans.
- Conduct regular one-on-one sessions to focus on individual growth and team dynamics.
- Manage daily team operations, ensuring equitable workload distribution.
- Plan and assess departmental activities, delegating tasks as necessary.
- Oversee team resources and collaborate with internal recruitment as needed.
- Exemplify leadership qualities and promote a positive work environment.
