Position Overview
Are you a motivated and skilled clinical nurse with a passion for advancing healthcare through research? We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Band 5 Research Staff Nurses.
We currently have two openings within our research division: one in the Cancer Research Team and another in the Inflammation Research Facility (IRF). Both roles are situated within a dynamic healthcare environment.
If you possess experience in Oncology or have worked with patients suffering from inflammatory conditions, these positions offer a unique opportunity to enhance your expertise and contribute to groundbreaking research.
As a member of our research teams, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality research initiatives. Each team engages in a variety of studies, including commercial, academic, observational, and complex interventional trials. You will gain comprehensive knowledge of trial protocols and research methodologies while supporting the growth of our diverse research portfolios. This role will also allow you to refine your skills in communication, organization, time management, and documentation.

Main Responsibilities
To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following essential criteria:
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in the role and articulate this effectively during the application process.
- Hold a valid Level 1 Adult Nurse registration with the NMC.
- Have post-registration experience in a complex healthcare or acute NHS setting.
- Exhibit competence in managing patient care and shift leadership relevant to the clinical environment.
- Experience working independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team, including delegating tasks and providing supervision.
- Show evidence of professional development and achievements in your current role.
- Possess good IT skills and the ability to document information electronically.
- Maintain a positive and enthusiastic demeanor.
- Communicate effectively and clearly.
- Previous experience in research, oncology, or inflammatory conditions is advantageous but not mandatory.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential Qualifications:
- Registered Level 1 Adult Nurse on the NMC Register.
- Ability to meet revalidation requirements as stipulated by the NMC.
Essential Experience:
- Recent experience in an acute secondary NHS care setting.
- Demonstrated achievements and ongoing professional development in your current role.
- Experience working both independently and as part of a team in a healthcare setting, including the ability to supervise others.
- Willingness to serve as a mentor and meet NMC mentorship requirements.
- Understanding of the NMC code of conduct and principles of safeguarding.
- Awareness of health and safety regulations.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience in oncology (for the Cancer Research Team position).
- Experience working with patients with inflammatory conditions (for the IRF position).
Additional Criteria:
- Demonstrated numeracy and literacy skills, including the ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
- Proficient in IT skills and electronic documentation.
- Competent in a variety of clinical skills and willing to expand practices as required.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
