Job Summary

The Head of Health and Safety is a critical role at The Children's Trust, responsible for ensuring the well-being and safety of our staff, children, and visitors. As the lead health and safety professional, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure health and safety is integrated into all aspects of the organization.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in health and safety management, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends to inform health and safety decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
