Transport Planner Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our client's team in the Witham area. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with a competitive salary of up to £28,000 per annum, negotiable based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive Regulations, maintaining accurate records.
  • Verify vehicle and driver registration, and ensure fleet ownership and maintenance are up to date.
  • Maintain DVSA file check sheets, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections and maintenance checks, adhering to schedules.
  • Manage insurance records, fleet records, and DVSA records, documenting changes to the fleet.
  • Implement and maintain safe working practices, transport risk assessments, and near-miss reporting.
Requirements:
  • Experience in planning express or same-day van drivers.
  • Knowledge of vehicle weights and legal limits.
  • Understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive Regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience in the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain industry.
