Position Overview: As the Countryside Manager, you will spearhead our countryside initiatives, developing and executing strategies aimed at preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of our properties. Your role will encompass the daily management of land, outdoor spaces, and nature across our diverse portfolio.
Working Hours: This is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours per week, primarily based at our designated office. Typical working hours are from 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, with some weekend, holiday, and evening commitments expected due to the nature of the role.
Compensation: The annual salary for this position is £38,250.
Employment Type: This is a permanent role.

About the Role: You will be responsible for fostering and maintaining robust professional relationships with colleagues, tenants, partner organizations, and neighboring land managers. This collaboration is essential for shaping and implementing our ambitious nature and climate strategy.
In your capacity as Countryside Manager, you will also work closely with our project team to advance a recently awarded feasibility grant aimed at landscape recovery.
Key Qualifications:
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in team development, change management, and volunteer engagement.
- Communication Proficiency: Strong interpersonal skills with a background in partnership management.
- Conservation Knowledge: A solid understanding of nature conservation principles and access management.
- Visitor Engagement: A passion for connecting people with nature, emphasizing the importance of access and interpretation.
- Financial Acumen: Experience in budget management, project financing, and contract oversight.
- Compliance Awareness: Familiarity with health and safety regulations and compliance issues related to outdoor activities.
- Driving License: A valid driving license is required.
