We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Manager to join our team at First Call Contract Services. As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and food safety in our factory.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain factory standards through regular auditing and ensure compliance with customer and third-party standards.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures that form the Quality Management System, ensuring the business meets its requirements and those of our customers and third-party standards.
- Ensure procedures designed to maintain product quality, safety, and legality are followed by all staff.
- Assist in the smooth implementation of changes and product launches.
- Lead and fully understand the site HACCP and be involved in the evaluation of risk and defining controls, prior to the introduction of a new process, product, or raw material.
- Proactively determine areas where improvement is necessary and assist in ensuring that non-conformances are addressed.
- Lead, motivate, and inspire the technical team in line with our company values to achieve personal development and continuous improvement.
- Previous experience in a similar Technical Management role in food manufacturing or food retailing.
- Previous responsibility for hygiene and pest control.
- Extensive practical experience of HACCP.
- Understanding of external standards including BRC, IFS, and retailers' code of practice.
- Knowledge of food legislation.
- A passion for delivering results and the drive to exceed expectations.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to be flexible to meet business needs.
- High attention to detail.
- A team player.
- Systematic problem-solving.
- Influencing and challenging skills.
- Computer literate in all Microsoft packages.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Relevant qualification in Food Science.
- Award in Food Safety in Manufacturing (Level 3 or above).
- Award in HACCP in Food Manufacturing (Level 4).
- Knowledge of bakery products.
Working Hours: Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday, 8am-5pm
