The Global Recruitment Team (International) GRTI plays a pivotal role in enabling the University of Reading to achieve its ambitious international student recruitment targets, while also helping to build its profile and presence in countries worldwide. As part of the External Relations Directorate (ERD), which includes UK student recruitment and outreach, admissions, applicant engagement, and marketing, communication, and engagement teams, this role is a key part of the University's global recruitment strategy.

This placement year role is designed to give a University of Reading student the opportunity to leverage their experiences as a member of the University student community to build closer relationships with prospective international students through digital communication channels. The role is also intended to equip the post holder with a broad skills set that may help them progress their career in marketing and communications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing effective digital communication strategies to engage with international students
  • Creating and curating high-quality content for social media channels and other digital platforms
  • Collaborating with the Global Recruitment Team to achieve recruitment targets
  • Providing excellent customer service and support to prospective students
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing and communications
