Purchase Ledger Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger Specialist to join our finance team at HAYS Specialist Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing purchase invoices and credit notes, supplier statement reconciliations, bank and cash allocations, and supplier payment runs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Process purchase invoices and credit notes in a timely and accurate manner
  2. Reconcile supplier statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
  3. Allocate bank and cash transactions to the correct accounts
  4. Process supplier payments in accordance with company policies
  5. Perform month-end procedures to ensure financial accuracy
  6. Set up and maintain supplier accounts in our accounting system
  7. Administer purchase orders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services
  8. Participate in the annual external audit to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable
  2. Ability to work in a team and individually with minimal supervision
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  4. Good attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness in financial transactions
  5. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  6. Computer literacy with a good working knowledge of accounting packages and other relevant applications
