Underwriter – Technology Errors & Omissions – Bilingual French

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a driven professional eager to join a rapidly expanding and innovative organization. The successful candidate will have the freedom to cultivate their portfolio in Quebec and will play a key role in decisions related to risk appetite and pricing strategies. This position may also involve travel to Canada to engage with broker partners. We provide relocation options for eligible candidates under the Youth Mobility Scheme Visa, as well as those with Ancestry or Spousal Visas. Sponsorship may also be available for those who do not meet the aforementioned visa requirements. Our comprehensive package includes solutions across various classes such as Errors & Omissions, Cyber Liability, Public & Products Liability, Employers Liability, and Property, offering extensive exposure to diverse areas. We are continuously seeking to innovate through technology and are committed to delivering exceptional support to the most creative and disruptive businesses globally.

Role Overview

In this role, you will engage in all facets of underwriting Technology Errors & Omissions across Canada. You will be responsible for developing and underwriting profitable accounts, collaborating closely with the Team Leader and fellow underwriters in several key areas, including new business acquisition, complex renewal underwriting, fostering broker relationships, and addressing technical inquiries from other underwriting teams. Key responsibilities include:
  • Responding promptly and professionally to new business inquiries and renewal submissions from brokers, ensuring a high standard of service and producing quotations within established service level agreements and authority limits;
  • Preparing and delivering presentations on CFC products, industry trends, and emerging risks to both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Contributing positively to team performance metrics;
  • Promoting team capabilities through existing and new relationships, including attending international business trips as necessary;
  • Enhancing product knowledge in Quebec and assisting other teams with their distribution efforts in the province;
  • Staying informed about evolving legislation in Quebec and providing updates to the team.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess business fluency in French and have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the insurance sector, ideally with a focus on underwriting Errors & Omissions or Financial Lines. Given our primary market is Canada, experience within this territory is highly advantageous. We seek motivated self-starters with a robust work ethic who thrive in a fast-paced environment and can contribute to a high-performance team. You should be sales and service-oriented, confident in communication both over the phone and in person, and demonstrate a strong desire to support team growth. Analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to make swift, effective decisions. You will be expected to operate at a high intensity that supports the successful framework of our organization while building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate our ambitious growth objectives.
