Job Title: Senior Anaesthetic Theatre Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Anaesthetic Theatre Practitioner to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to take on a leadership role within our Anaesthetic Team. As a Senior Anaesthetic Theatre Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and safety.

You will work closely with the Anaesthetic Team to develop and implement policies and procedures, and contribute to the advancement of equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the Anaesthetic Team
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care and safety
  • Contribute to the advancement of equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace
  • Work closely with the Anaesthetic Team to develop and implement clinical governance initiatives
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • NMC Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner (appropriate to Clinical Speciality)
  • Relevant accredited qualification relating to clinical speciality at post-graduate level
  • Evidence of on-going professional development relating to clinical speciality in addition to primary qualification
  • Experience of having worked with acute/chronically sick children or specialised transferrable skills
  • Understanding of professional and current issues in children's nursing
  • Understanding of Diversity and Inclusion challenges in the workplace
  • Demonstratable contribution to advancing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace
  • Basic knowledge of computer skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding issues according to Trust policies and procedures
  • Understanding of principles of clinical governance (e.g. risk management, audit, quality)
  • Understanding of Nursing/Clinical practice and innovation outside of GOSH
  • Knowledge of clinical incidents and complaints reporting
