Building Services Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Services Engineer to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust. As a key member of our Estates department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and continuous operation of all engineering and building plant and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the safe and continuous operation of all engineering and building plant and equipment, in accordance with statutory requirements, codes of practice, guidance notes and Trust procedures.
- Carry out site maintenance responsibilities out of normal office hours.
- Act as the Trust's Fire Controlling Officer and undertake the duties of that role for the site as a whole during a fire event.
- Carry out line manager duties for contractors.
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Westmorland General Hospital - as well as a number of community healthcare premises. Our hospitals provide a range of General Hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and Consultant-led services.
As a Building Services Engineer, you will be part of a 7 person shift team providing 24/7 cover to our hospital sites. You will be trained to specialise in healthcare ventilation and decontamination, and will work closely with our creative building craftpersons and dedicated support staff to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
